SAIL WITH US

A TYPICAL DAY ON THE MAGDALENA

A typical day on Magdalena is all about safety and harmony with nature. After a good provision for the week, breakfast is at your choice, followed by a swim and departure towards new bays or islands. During the week, navigation alternates with moments of teaching and excursions on land. Lunch is simple and fresh, usually eaten at anchor. In the afternoon, sailing resumes or the surroundings are explored. In the evening, sometimes we will be able to find a place on the dock, but more often we will anchor in a quiet bay for a beautiful sunset. Dinner will be more substantial, in a restaurant or prepared by the skipper. A walk with an ice cream can end the evening.
Sometimes, if the program includes it, there will also be a night navigation under the stars.

FAQ

Boarding is on Saturday afternoon after 5pm, although you can come earlier to drop off your luggage. I suggest you consult a travel site or app like Rome2Rio that will offer you the best and most economical solutions to reach the port of embarkation. The exact point will be communicated in due time.
Travel light but don’t forget boat shoes and hiking boots, and a sweatshirt and a K-way for the night. I have masks and fins on board for occasional use, but if you are a snorkeling enthusiast it is better to bring your own equipment. The same goes for fishing, on board I have a rod and some trolling lures, but I have a lot to do, if you are an avid fisherman go ahead! I have excellent fish recipes…
Over the years I have had guests, sailors and vacationers from all over the world and of all ages, an added value to my proposal. Generally all people with some experience and who already know how to be on a boat.
None of these things. I prefer the silence and the natural breeze that never fails. I have a large tank for sanitary and drinking water and with careful use, but without stress, we will do the week without having to look for water supplies. Each cabin has two portholes and a small fan for excellent ventilation.
I always have the help of a sailor, and we can do everything on our own, but an extra hand is always appreciated and allows you to have a complete experience. I am always available to teach you maneuvers, courses, knots, and tips for safe and pleasant navigation.
The galley is done together before setting sail. Lunches are preferably light, salads, cheeses, cold cuts, fruit. Dinners are more substantial, pasta, rice, omelettes, possibly fish. I usually cook with the help of a volunteers, but if someone else wants to cook I will gladly help them. A restaurant on land will be a pleasant alternative. Everyone helps out, but the dishes are the sailor’s job, as is cleaning the common areas. Each person will manage their own cabin, including portholes and toilets.
Of course! Depending on the safety of anchorages and moorings, the weather and timing, we will go ashore in accordance with the preferences of the group. We will have the opportunity to do tourism, walks and enjoy aperitifs and dinners with typical foods. The only fixed points are the places of embarkation and disembarkation, and the desire of everyone to have a pleasant holiday, in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere!
One important thing is to always be careful not to fall or slip. To learn how to sail safely, the Skipper Weeks offer even more in-depth training and more sailing miles. In case of adverse weather conditions, the program is modified or we wait for an improvement, staying close by.
